Paws for Reform launches

Today we publicly launch the Paws for Reform campaign, calling on the NSW Government to modernise the state’s outdated laws on dogs in hospitality venues and on public transport. The campaign is backed by an evidence brief drawing on FSANZ’s own food safety assessment, international comparators from London, Paris, Berlin, and Vienna, and the latest pet ownership data showing 49% of Australian households now own a dog.

Companion Animals Act review: our submission

The NSW Companion Animals Act is undergoing its first comprehensive review in over 20 years. Paws for Reform has prepared a detailed submission arguing for the inclusion of venue-discretion provisions for indoor dining. Further government consultation is expected later in 2026.
